How long have you been living in Grottole?

I moved here three years ago.

What made you come to Grottole?

I was attracted by Wonder Grottole. I stayed because of the people – and the beautiful village of course.

How has Grottole changed since you moved here?

Since I have arrived, a part of me keeps saying to myself: Please don’t change! That being said, there have been many renovations and town improvements: The castle was renovated, so was the church at the town center and a new football field was built. And there are so many homes being renovated. Each improvement has brought a wonderful sense of pride to the town.

What is the most special thing about Grottole?

Its people! They are so warm and wonderful. I’m constantly in awe of how the are keeping the traditions of generations. When I am going around town and greeting others, it fills my heart.

What is your favorite place in all of Grottole?

Selfishly, I am going to say how blessed I feel to have been able to purchase the home I have. It is a special property for the community and I feel fortunate to be the new caretaker for it. I love the special memories it holds and its amazing layout and view to appreciate such a beautiful town.

Who cooks the best food in Grottole?

That’s not a serious question, is it?

Is there any product that you produce for yourself?

I certainly enjoy learning from locals about growing my own vegetables, making wine and using copious amounts of local oil!

What’s your favorite memory of Grottole?

Every warm interaction with someone else in town is precious to me.

What’s something you can do better than anyone else?

Well, speaking US English (I’m the only one in town) ... But I really need to learn Italian!
